Aviv Spitz
Writer, Producer
Aviv Spitz is an independent writer and producer based in Boston, MA. Obtaining a BA at Carnegie Mellon University in Film & Visual Media, Aviv is currently studying abroad (Fall ’25) at the prestigious FAMU film school in Prague. There, he is directing an eight minute film shot on 16mm. Most recently, Aviv was the assistant to 2x Emmy award-winning TV writer and showrunner Javi Grillo-Marxuach; He is currently the head of Acquisitions and Development at 7to8 Productions, a Pittsburgh-based production company, as well as the VP and co-founder of CMU Filmmakers.
Aviv’s practice is focused in deep empathetic character work, colored by realism, and rooted in class commentary and satire. (Some favorites: The Magnificent Ambersons, Dr. Strangelove, La Haine, Moonlight!)
